CenOmax 7" Digital Photo Frame
Conclusion:
Overall, the CenOmax 7" Digital Photo Frame has many desirable features that a buyer might look for in a digital photo frame. The customizable frames feature appeals to a variety of personalities, and the built-in alarm and clock feature adds versatility to the product. The digital frame, in my opinion, fails to meet the high expectations of its asking price. The clock is the clearest feature offered on the digital photo frame. Even when using this feature there is an obnoxious white bar across the bottom of the screen that stands out like a sore thumb. Furthermore, after testing the product on both the Corsair flash drive and the SanDisk SD card mutliple times, the load time of the pictures changed astronomically each time ranging from a ten second load time to a two minute load time. The system even froze midway through the loading process. Once the pictures were loaded into the system, the clarity/resolution of the pictures was less than desirable. With its low resolution of 408 x 234 pixels, the images are a tid bit rough to look at. The pictures were very grainy and pixelated on both a normal and wide screen view. For the $80 MSRP price tag, I would have expected a higher resolution to display higher quality photos.
In addition, the digital frame boasts both a music feature and a video feature. Again, I was very disappointed with the consistency of these features. Depending on the storage device used when trying to play the video, the video may or may not play in a continuous stream. The video stopped and had to buffer numerous times when I played it from the Corsair Flash Drive. It did not have a high enough read speed or enough required memory to buffer the video properly. With the SanDisk SD card, however, the video feature loaded with no problems and only had the inital loading time of 8 to 10 seconds. The music player was one of the most simple features in the digital frame to use. The fact that the music can be played in the background of images as well as the video playback was very exciting. The only downfall to this feature was the tinny sound quality it produced.
Bottom line, compared to other digital frames on the market, the CenOmax 7" Digital Photo Frame is a decent product. If you are looking for a top of the notch way to display crisp images, then you may want to plan on spending a little more money for your digital frame. The CenOmax frame has a bunch of fun features to play with and with its four interchangeable faceplates, it will at least look good anywhere!
