Abit IX38 Quad GT Motherboard

Analysis

The Abit IX38 Quad GT is an amazing board for the money. The expandability and support built into this platform will meet and exceed the needs of even the most hardcore gamer and overclocker. Simply drop in your favorite CPU, memory, and video card and you have a very stable and capable machine. With support for 4 video cards and Crossfire X you are ensured longevity of your machine to play today's games as well as tomorrow's. The performance of our setup was very good considering we were not using a quad core CPU nor greater than 2GB of ram on this Vista setup. For the true gamers and performance minded enthusiasts these are almost necessities. We wanted to keep the setup closer to what mainstream users were likely to find inside their own machines.

Now down to the bottom line, the IX38 Quad GT uses a proven chipset and is probably the best buy amongst motherboards at the time of this publication. We experienced no glitches or hangups during our testing and ran into no instability during overclocking or in regular use. We cannot stress enough the importance of motherboard stability when considering an upgrade or replacement. The motherboard is the heart of your system and can lead to a much more pleasant experience, or it can drive you crazy with lockups and incompatibilities. The IX38 Quad GT provided us with a smooth experience which also delivering high performance and all of this at a relatively low price.
