Conclusion:
The 4G4A+ is one of the first i845G motherboards on the market because EPoX was chosen as a reference design maker for this new generation of Intel 845 chipset-based motherboards. The EPoX 4G4A+ is all-encompassing. This feature-rich motherboard has everything except the kitchen sink. Well... that's an exaggeration, but it is fully-loaded in terms of all the new and cool features the computer world has to offer. These features include HighPoint RAID, USB2.0, an EPoX debug LED, integrated 6-channel digital audio, fast 10/100 Realtek LAN, and onboard video with near GeForce2 MX 100 performance, Bluetooth compatibility, and industry-leading overclock features.
EPoX's 4G4A+ also has dominating performance in the majority of benchmarks; clearly having better scores than the last Intel 845D chipset. It also ran all 3D graphic tests well and without any issues.
Retailing for about $115, the EPoX 4G4A+ is affordable and definitely worth it. No need to buy a video card, sound card, RAID controller card, or network interface card. In addition, the integrated video is also faster than ATi's newest chipset venture, the Radeon IGP320/330. It also scores reasonably close to the MSI K7N420 Pro, which is powered by the GeForce2 MX, and outperforms competing SiS and S3 integrated graphics. Get this 4G4A+ if one is looking for top-of-the-line performance and robust features, all packed into one motherboard.
Techware Labs awards the EPoX 4G4A+ our Editor's Choice award, for offering such a well-rounded motherboard.
