Gigabyte GA EP45 DQ6 Motherboard

Conclusion
The Gigabyte GA-EP45-DQ6 is priced at 229.99 at newegg.com which definitely places it in the big boy market and as such, it delivers. The question is does it deliver? My answer is yes. Although Gigabyte does have a couple of things to address, such as the RAM voltage controller and the dead SATA ports in my own personal experience, the board comes with plenty of features and options to tweak it and make into something that will challenge even the big giants such as the ASUS Striker II and EVGA 780i chipsets. The 4 Gb LAN connection on the board will most likely not be used by the average user since he or she will be ultimately limited by their internet connection, however, for those of us that like to get the added edge at the LAN party, it will help exponentially. While the TMP Security chip provides 4028 bits of security making this board an excellent candidate for an office or a workplace, I again, can hardly see home users needing to over secure their data, but the option is nice. The bios versions F7 and above lack the option to enable the Gigabyte raid controller, so for most of the testing I was stuck with the older F6. Overall the plethora of GA EP45-DQ6's features outweigh its shortcomings.
