Conclusions:
The K8X800 Pro II is an excellent board. At the time of this article is can be found for approximately $110 US which is an awesome price for a board with all the features it has. This board will please both the average consumer and the enthusiast in its ability to deliver performance and stability. TWL was pleased with the performance and feature set as well as included support from Albatron.
If you are seeking a K8 board and want excellent performance that won't break your wallet, the K8X800 Pro II is an excellent choice.
Pro's:
- Excellent feature set
- Good performance
- Full range of voltage/frequency selections
- Many fine bios tweaks available
- Good looking board (PCB & Northbridge standout)
- Excellent website support
Con's:
- Limited Overclock due to lack of functional AGP/PCI lock
- Poor placement of Floppy and Power connectors
Overall the K8X800 Pro II comes out ahead of the pack in terms of performance/features. The onboard audio, Lan, Firewire, and USB round out the versatility of this board and accent its already good performance.
