It seems that HP took a radical turn away from the popular 2133 with the release of the Mini 1000. Plastic construction, 8.9 and 10" screen sizes, maximum of 1GB ram, and SSD or PATA hard drives make the Mini 1000 everything that the 2133 is not. It is only our opinion but the only positive aspect of the Mini -1000 is that it is now Intel Atom powered and comes with a much lower pricetag attached. We can only hope that the Mini 1000 is just a stepping stone in the netbook path for HP and that we will see a better equipped and configurable netbook in the future.
