It has been a pleasure dealing with the Logitech G15 keyboard for the past few weeks. It has many useful functions and design features. We really liked the underside grooves for wires that may be coming out from the USB slots of the keyboard, and the general look of the keyboard itself. The blue backlit keys are a great touch and really make the overall great look of this keyboard. And the LCD, media keys, macro keys, and everything else on the keyboard has proved to be very useful and will please almost all gamers out there.
Though with almost everything there are a couple downsides. Firstly, if you are huge into first person shooter games you may want to look elsewhere as you will unlikely use the macro keys very often, and there isn't exactly a nice WASD key setup like on such keyboards as the Wolfclaw. Secondly, the LCD could use a little more function ability. It seems as if this LCD has so much potential and is not being used to its fullest by Logitech considering they only ship with a very limited amount of applications for it. However, there are a bunch of third-party applications out there for G15 LCD which is good to see.
Overall this keyboard is awesome. It should be loved by nearly every gamer out there that likes the standard keyboard layout. Despite the numerous keyboards tested personally and here on Techware Labs, this one is going to be our number one until something better comes a long.
UPDATE: I got an email this morning about Winamp and the media keys. Basically, if you just enable global hot keys in Winamp, then the media keys will work. Big thanks to Jeroen for the heads up!
We'd like to thank CrazyPC for sending a long this keyboard for review. The Logitech G15 can be had from CrazyPC for $74.99 USD here.
