DataMarck:
DataMarck tests the read rate, as well as the seek time of the drive. You can see in the picture below that it scored and average of 115.6 MB/s, which is fairly consistent with our HDTune benchmark. The seek time however, is higher than we've come to expect at 0.5 ms.

CrystalDiskMark 2.1:
CrystalDiskMark was used to test the read and write speeds of different file sizes, and in this case of course to and from the Patriot PE128GS25SSDR. The results are as follows:
50MB test |
100MB test |
500MB test |
1,000MB test |

We see that the read speeds hold fairly constant across all of the sample sizes. The anomalies occur when you get to the large sequential writes. We see the the write speeds differentiate from prior results by as much as 20 MB/s (the 100MB test and 1000MB test). This discrepancy may have something to do with the nature in which the drive writes to its NAND flash chips. This resultant drop in performance isn't a fluke either, as we noticed sometimes during our testing that we would receive random slow downs when transferring large files in the background. These problems can probably be fixed by a firmware update.
