ATI Radeon HD 3870

A Closer Look:

So lets take a look at the card iteself and see how it has been engineered...

The ATI Radeon 3870 is a dual slot graphic card, the additional slot is used for optimized cooling. The fan located on the end of the card blows the air over the heatsink and out the back of the card. The consistant flow of cold air over the GPU heatsink, allow for the GPU to remain at low temperatures at all times. As outputs, the card has two DVI ports and one HDTV/S-Video connections, this allows for a multiple screen display. Located in the top corner of the car is the 6pin power adapter to provide a higher amount of power to allow the graphics card to work at its full potential. On the opposing top corner is the crossfire connections, it has dual slots to enable the use of more then just one other card in crossfire mode. Not only does this card perform well, but also has the look to go with it.

Test System:

For doing our testing we are going to be using the AMD Phenom 9600BE quad core processor with Asus' new 780G motherboard. As the operating system we chose to use Windows Vista to get full advantages of DirectX 10.1.
