Palit GTX 280 SLI

Palit

Conclusion:

Overall you cannot beat the performance of the Palit GTX280. It is hands down the highest performing single card on the market today, and even when compared to the higher end X2 cards, its a formidable enemy. But the true power lies when you take the TWO of these cards and put them in SLI, then you will see how well these cards can perform. As we have seen, when we were had the two Palit GTX280s in SLI, I was able to play Crysis on maxed out settings, as it might have been a little laggy at times, we later found out the the bottleneck in my system is my CPU and Memory, NOT the graphics card. So if you happen to have a higher performance CPU and Memory than I currently have, then you should have no problem playing Crysis on maxed out settings. Which if you ask me, is an amazing feat. Finally a system that can play Crysis on maxed out settings.

Palit nVidia GeForce GTX 280

When the GTX 280 first came out, it was priced at a whooping $649.99, as the performance of the card was phoneomonal at the time, nVidia figured they could squeeze some extra money out of everyone. But soon after the release of the ATI 4000 series, nVidia realized that there is no way that they can compete with ATI when ATI was selling the 4870 (which performs shy of what the GTX280 can) for $399.99, because of this little price battle, nVidia was forced to lower the prices of thier 200 series cards. Now you can go out to newegg and purchase this Palit GTX280 video card for only $409.99. Even compared to the ATI Radeon 4870X2, which does perform better than the GTX280 by 15-25%, but is that extra performance really worth its $549.99 price tag? If you think so, then feel free to check out the review on our Palit 4870x2.
