Thermaltake MaxOrb CPU Cooler
Testing:
Clearance seemed to be an issue at first, with only 1/2" between the power supply and the rear fan. This didn't seem to be a problem in my case, but in some computers with smaller motherboard form factors this may become an issue.
This CPU cooler was tested against the Thermaltake V1, the stock Intel Processor, and the Nexus LXM-8200 Real Silent cooler. It outperformed all three when tested with the same thermal paste at idle.
CPU Cooler | Temp | Price |
Thermaltake MaxOrb | 24C | $49.99 |
Thermaltake V1 | 25C | $58.99 |
Nexus LXM-8200 | 27C | $49.95 |
Intel Stock Heatsink | 30C | Free |

Conclusion:
This is a fantastic CPU Cooler. Collectively, it outperformed the V1 for $10 less, and did much better than the Nexus cooler for the same price. While size may be an issue, we don't think it will affect too many of the PC modders out there. The Thermaltake MaxOrb can be purchased from our friends at Xoxide.com for $49.99.
