Samsung SyncMaster 191T 19" LCD Display Review

Testing The 191T:

Now there are not really any real benchmarks or programs to test the quality and performance of a TFT LCD display so my eyes are the judges here. Yup my 20/20 vision is sure to spot out any real imperfections or irregularities. Here is what I have come to conclude.

The 191T offers crisp sharp images and text. When running at the maximum resolution of 1280x1024 @ 75Hz and not straining your eyes you will surely appreciate the image quality of this display. DVD playback and gaming is a different story though. In high FPS gaming there was a substantial amount of ghosting and tearing even for the average gamer to quickly realize. DVD playback was similar but not as severe.  I would have really liked this display to perform much better in these two functions.

Final Thoughts and Conclusion:

Through extensive use this monitor has attached itself to me. It will satisfy any user with the support of both analog and digital signals.  The sheer screen size of the display is amazing and becomes very comfortable to have around whether working or playing. Though gaming did suffer. Being so sleek and compact there is minimal weight added to the display which makes it much lighter than CRT monitors this size and even smaller.

Added features like the swiveling screen for portrait viewing mode and such a great OSD give the 191T that extra special touch. Concerning the price there is a hefty price tag for all of this. With a MSRP of $2,499.00 be ready to save all those pennies and nickels in the couch. Although you do get exactly what you pay for and more.
