Gigabyte P4 Titan Series 8TRX330-L

8TRX330-L

With this board having two SATA connections and supports RAID, gives the user the ability to use RAID0 to significantly increase drive access times. If the user decides not to take full advantage of these features, one could find another board without these features for a lesser price. The system BIOS screen is as with any other motherboard pretty straight forward. The 8TRX330-L is a good performer for the average gamer, though the board comes up a little short of options in the over-clocking category. The following screen shots show the advanced BIOS Features screen, Frequency/Voltage Control (the sole overclocking option) and Intergrated Peripherals screen. Using the Frequency/Voltage Control screen, overclocking the 3.0 Ghz processor was extremely simple. Also with changing these settings, an addtional 400+MHz was gained from the processor.

As shown below the CMOS main screen has an option of "Top Performance." With this reviewer at a loss what what this option really does, a benchmark was taken with the default and one with the "Top Performance" enabled. The result was so minimal it was hard to find where the performace gain was. The only performace gain while changing setting in the CMOS was with the Frequency/Voltage setting described above.
