Maxtor DiamondMax Plus 9 6Y200M0 200GB SATA

Review by Matthew Homan on 6/06/04

Hard Drive Storage

Hard drives have come along way from this reviewers first 20meg IDE that has since become a conversation piece slash paper weight. Maxtor has created a very fast and very generous with storage SATA hard drive and we have it here at TWL. Though IDE drives have been pretty much the one of two types of hard drives that has been on the market for all computers whether is be a PC or even a MAC for many years. The other option being SCSI, which we all know is not a cheaper option. Lately there is a new option in town. SATA recently popped on the scene as another option for home users to choose from. Of course SATA is also an option in the work place, but let’s just focus on what kind of performance you can expect from this drive before we look at where we can use it.
