Default Re: Restoring the registry from DOS??

???
It seems scanreg does not come with Win2k only 98 and ME.
However, I am able to boot into safe mode which allows me to see the exported registry file I created before this problem. I just cannot re-import the file while in win2k because it says some of the keys are in use. (even in safe mode)
That's why I was hoping for a dos alternative.
I have also done a search for the user and sytem.dat files but I am still new to Win2k and seems that they don't exist. Only files like NTuser.dat and System with no extension.
I thought that maybe if I could rename those and recover the backups I might have a chance.
