Meh, I'm not a big fan of Kazaa (normal or lite). WinMX still works well for me. If you can't connect for prolonged periods, it's because assholes aren't being primary connections. Generally when I connect I do that, because I like helping other people. It does suck down 25-100% of CPU, and basically all my upstream bandwidth, though. I haven't been using WinMX much lately at all though either.

I personally use DC++ almost exclusively. I do have the advantage of being on a private hub, with ~15 TB of data, and people who *actually* share lots, and *actually* stay on long enough to download 8 GB of data, though.

Well, this is getting OT, but I'll do it anyway. First of all, download DC++, not DC. Then, on your internet gateway router forward ports 411-412 for TCP *AND* UDP to your computer's LAN IP address (Some people claim you need 411 and 412, so I leave them both there, but you *do* need TCP and UDP). Then set DC++ to use port 412. Make sure you correctly enter your computer's WAN IP address in to the IP box (if you have a dynamic IP address, you'll need to change this when your IP changes).

Howdy..

This is my pants worth about winmx and kazza Lite..
I have always been a winmx fan.. however.. as time goes on.. winmx users have become more and more selfish. it takes forever to download anything unless you are in some kind of 'Group' people talk about kicking when not sharing and not playing favorites in the community.. although they are they worst contenders and belive in the edicite unless the rules apply to them. People have added all sorts of fixes to not people download unless hey are sharing a huge amount of files so you can't connect to them and other tools.
Winmx still carries virus's just the same as Kazza/Kazza Lite.. however I think that wimx does have less virus problems. Winmx seems to have more software avialable for download..not sure about music.. but you are qeued forever then half the time disconnected.
Kazza lite allows quicker downloads and the newwer version has great tools like IP hidder.. and it won't show all your shared files if someone wants to browse you.
Kazza lite is much faster (not neccasaraly download speed but you can actually download if avaible stright away) and works more at hidding your identity. be careful of virus's however.. there seems to be a lot of wanna be hackers who get stung by a virus then once fixed make the file avaible in sharing for someone else.
Most downloads are ok.. just watch out for what you download.. cracks unfortunaty for me are getting a bad name as of a few rogue wanna be's. So be careful with them.. other wise most downloads are all good.. watch for size of program or song.. make sure it is big enough to be a song or program... if not find another download..

Thats my Pants Worth..
