Only 15 away messages? WTF?

Could you explain why you want up to / more than 15 away messages? Are there really 15 different things that you do frequently enough that draw you away from the computer, to make setting up a specific away message for each necessary?

I have one saying I'm sleeping, gone to school, at work, or somewhere else. I have another one saying I'll brb. And I have my idle auto-reponse message saying I'm probably not at my computer, since I haven't used it in 10+ minutes.

If I'm doing something else than that...something specific...I just type up something quick. I see no point in saving an away message to say "I'm going bowling with some friends. I should be back around 9:00 PM" when I'm going to use that all of about twice.

I hear you man. Here are my three and only three.

Bathroom
Hey, I gotta make the good ol' bladder a whole lot gladder. Be back in a while. LaTa!

Eating
Hey, I'm eating so that I can re-fuel myself and absorb what you unfortunately have to say. Heh. J/M. I'll be back in 20 mins.

I'm Lost (Away One)
Hey. I'm lost. I have gone to go look for myself. If I get back before I return, please tell me to wait. Thx. And leave a message lazy ass. J/M.

There is no need for 15 away messages.

All you need is one man...It isn't anyone else's business why you away! Maybe sometimes for special circumstances like group projects or something, but other than that I don't see the point.

I wonder if you can make a sound file your away message. Earshot's song "Get Away" would be perfect!

I'll tell you one thing. I doubt AIM will be the first to think of that...being as limiting as they are with their IM clients. Heh.

while i would agree that 15 away messages is kinda silly, we should still try and help the guy/gal out. I mean, what is it to you that he has a more diverse life than any of us here? :P. With that said, I do like Trillian. If you are into opensource apps, you can also check out GAIM. DeadAIM might also be an answer to your problem.
