Altec Lansing Orbit MP3 iM237
Testing: He memorized Dan Marino's career stats but not my birthday
It's worth the wait, though, when the Orbit MP3 is finally charged up and ready to roll. In a cubicle or dorm room, the unit plays music at an enjoyable volume without too much tinniness or distortion. For such a small speaker, it packs a great sound and reproduces your tunes expertly. It has enough range to allow you to hear and understand musical vocals and spoken words without having to turn up the volume so much that the rest of the music, and your co-workers are disturbed. In a larger room or outside, the Orbit still holds its own and doesn't disappoint. It's not going to allow you to hear the football game over the ruckus caused by your kid's pee-wee soccer match you had to attend, but you won't have a problem hearing the final score when all the other children have left and your kid is running around the playground, burning off the rest of the energy that the pediatrician says is a result of his lack of paternal involvement. I was that kid and my therapist, Dr. Rosenberg, says that's why I wet the bed. Thanks Dad.
The perfect gift for your no good little punk nephew To use every day, the Orbit would be enjoyed by anyone who carries a purse, a backpack or wears cargo pants. While it's small, it's not exactly slim. Don't expect it to fit into the back pocket of your jeans. If you're like one of those kids these days that wear slipknot hoodies the summer, it will fit in just fine in the front pocket next to your nickel bag and your learner's permit. Battery life is excellent and will play all day without missing a beat. Get a couple packs of AAA rechargeable batteries and keep some spares around if you're going to be away from home for a while. |
