Testing

Make a note that all images were taken with the AUTO setting unless otherwise noted. Let's begin by looking at the 3x optical and 5x digital zoom feature.

It was easy to capture a clear photo while less than 3x optical zoom, once the camera enters digital zoom it is almost necessary to use a tripod. The photos above were all captured, however, without a tripod. They are pretty clear, only becoming grainy when at a higher digital zoom. For all intensive purposes the optical zoom should get the job done when capturing images that are not too far away. Only use the digital zoom when absolutely necessary, as it tends to become harder to get that perfect shot!

Color Effects

Just a recap, in order to change the color effects either bring up a photo or prior to taking a photo, click on the "E" button and scroll down to the various color swapping options. Below is the images that Samsung provides on their website depicting how an image with each effect should appear. Let's look and compare them to the sample photos.

After comparing the sample images to the images provided by Samsung, I was greatly pleased. All of the color filters seemed reasonably comparable to the claims made by Samsung. The only color that I would question would be the green tone. The image provided by Samsung has a strong bond green hue to it, whereas you can definitely see the green hue in the sample image is not nearly as bold. For an in-camera editting job, however, the color effects get the job done.
