Samsung L210 Digital Camera
Conclusion
The Samsung L210, in my opinion, is an excellent camera at an affordable price. When I first received the L210, I assumed that a tiny black camera meant that it was a basic camera. I was wrong. The more I explored all of the features, the more I have grown to love this camera. It's no SLR, but for the average household user, this camera is perfect. Boasting numerous user-friendly tips and tricks, the L210 is perfect for the amateur user as well as the knowledgable camera "tweaker."
Inside and out, the L210 is a sturdy camera. Starting with the size, no larger than a standard business card, it is perfect for any pocket or purse. Thanks to the aluminum coating, the camera is not only light-weight, but also shock and scratch resistant. Samsung has truly done an excellent job in making the camera portable, even supplying the owner with an AC/USB adapter. One less cord is always a plus in my book!
For the relatively low cost of around $150, you will not find a better "bang for your buck." With 10 Megapixel, 3x zoom, dual image stabilization, the advanced movie mode, and an easy to navigate menu system, the L210 definitely has a lot to offer for a point and shoot camera. There are many standard features on this camera (like the 3x zoom), but the L210 does offer features that place it ahead of others, such as the advanced movie mode. With the new MPEG-4 format, it can store twice as much footage at a higher resolution than most other point and shoot cameras.
I would recommend the L210 for the average person who wants to learn more about the settings of a camera, but isn't quite ready to make the jump to an SLR. With the Program and Manual option settings, you can adjust your own ISO, White Balance, Metering, Sharpness, contrast, etc. Furthermore, you can play with all of these features at an astronomically lower cost than you would pay for a digital SLR. Not to mention it's nearly 1/3 of the weight and has a much higher battery life. Unlike most other cameras, the L210 offers a guided tutorial to help the user learn all of the features of the camera. You can truly learn the best way to take photos and get the most out of your digital camera.
Compared to other cameras on the market, the L210 clearly has its advantages, and is guaranteed to take beautiful pictures in any setting. Because of this, I award the L210 the Approved Hardware Award.
