Test Rig:

Processor

AMD 9950 Black Edition
RAM Crucial Ballistix DDR2 PC2-6400
Mobo Gigabyte GA-MA78GPM-DS2H
Video Card Sapphire 4870 Toxic Edition
Case Antec Twelve Hundred Gaming Chassis
Power Supply FSP Group Everest 900 Watt Power Supply
OS Windows Vista Ultimate 32-bit

To test the Cooler Master V8 I went through the very scientific process of playing video games, and lots of them, and measuring the temperature.  On a more serious note I recorded the temperature after booting up, while idling, during video games, and after two hours of stress testing my computer (Prime95 style).  It should be noted, my processor uses 140 watts of power.  The average processor puts off somewhere in the order of 90 watts, so this is a demanding cooling load, but well with in the specifications of the V8, which call for 180 watts of cooling.  The results of my tests are as follows:

  Trial 1 Trial 2
Startup 75 F 75 F
Idle 84 F 84 F
Video Games 97 F 97 F
Stress Test 105 F 105 F
