Waterblock Performance:

In this comparison we tested the PolarFLO water block against two other very competitive high end water blocks in this comparison. The Danger Den Maze 3 and the Innovatek Innovacool Rev. 3.

The Test Setup:

Abit KX7-333R
512 MB Geil PC3200
AMD Thoroughbred 2200+ A core
1//2 inch Silicone tubing
Rio 600 pump (Rated at 200gph)
Innovatek Tank Reservoir
Heatercore Radiator
Windows XP Sp1

Full Load Results: Prime 95

Ambient Temperature: 82 F

Fluid: Distilled Water/Water Wetter mixture

Product
Idle
Load
PolarFlo Universal Water Block
87 F
95 F
Danger Den Maze 3 with Poly Top
92 F
110 F
Innovatek Innovacool Rev. 3
90 F
108 F

From the comparison its easy to see that the PolarFLO easily has the advantage at either idle or load. In all fairness it is probably due to the dual outlets, a feature which neither the Innovacool nor the Maze 3 have. At idle the PolarFLO remained a cool three degrees lower than Innovacool and five degrees cooler than the Maze 3. At load the PolarFLO again a surprise with only a slight jump of eight degrees over idle. During load the expectation that the Innovacool may have a similarly small jump in temperatures arose, however, as you can see the full load temperatures of the Innovacool are 18 degrees above idle. This may be due to the small size, amout of metal, and smaller internal surface area of the block. The Maze 3 returns good but not spectatular results and comes in last in this roundup. Of course the reader needs to take into consideration that this is a roundup of some of the best blocks available, so last is still quite a good showing. At this point you might be asking yourself why it works so well.

Now lets take a look at whats under the hood!
