The controller has an On/Off button which is useful since you will probably have the bag plugged in most of the time even when you're not playing. Volume control is also a good feature present which allows you to balance the sound volume of the TV with the sound volume of the Game Bag 2.1. This can create 360 sound allowing you to really sink deep into your game. The bass control can be useful when you want to prevent people next room from sleeping while getting your jam on with Guitar Hero.
There are three jacks located on Game Bag 2.1.
- Audio Input
- Audio Output, and
- DC Power Jack
The audio input can be used for any type of sound output device imaginable. The audio output can be used to connect other game bags in series or alternatively additional powered speakers. Unfortunately this also means that plugging in the headphones will not turn off the Game Bag 2.1 speakers. So there isn't an option for "private gaming" as advertised. Of course you could simply run your headphones directly into your console or audio output and then turn off the chair but really a toggle to switch between built in speakers and a headset would have been nice.
While looking at the pocket I got a weird feeling that something wasn't right. I had to go back to the official web site to confirm my suspicion. The Game Bag 2.1 is not the Game Bag 2.1 that is on the official website. Nor is it the same Game Bag 2.1 that is in the picture of the box it came in. Granted it was not a big difference but the design was clearly not the same. Taking a closer look you can notice that on the official website the pocket can easily fit an XBOX360 while on the picture above, at best, it can fit a candy bar. Personally I would not be able to find use for a pocket this size on a gaming bag. The pocket is also on the left hand side of the while in the Game Bag above it is on the right hand side directly above the controller. Either a misunderstanding happened or the Game Bags advertised are not the same as the Game Bags sold. Let's move on for now.

Speakers placement is good so they play up into your ears from either side. They're covered by cloth so I could not see if there's anything to prevent someone accidentally (or on purpose) poking a hole in the speaker. The problem I came across was every time I sat down to play the back wall of the seat folded down. This made the speakers point down so low that they were facing straight into my back thus preventing any clear sound. I had to manually adjust the back wall so that it does not pull the speakers down. Understand though that I'm a pretty big (6+ft tall) guy and that may account for the speakers getting pulled down so far.
The sub woofer is placed on the back of the bag and on the bottom half. The sub woofer is also covered in cloth so there was no way to gauge the actual size of the speaker without manually feeling around for it. The enclosure beneath the cloth in which the sub woofer is placed was decent size but the woofer itself was approximately 3in. Not very promising but we'll test it first before passing judgments.
