FIC K8-800T AMD 64 Motherboard

Benchmark Programs:

TWL ran the FIC K8-800T through a battery of programs to test stability and performance. TWL used the following programs:

-SiSoft Sandra
-Prime 95
-3Dmark01
-3Dmark03
-Memtest
-CPUburn
-Quake 3

The Sisoft results show that the FIC K8-800T is a mid range contender that performs very well in the CPU benchmark. In the Multimedia Benchmark it loses to the older but faster clocked XP 3200 and in the Memory Benchmark it outperforms all but the Intel chipsets. Two minutes After running the entire series of benchmarks provided by SiSoft TWL checked the CPU temperature reported by the CPU. TWL was amazed that the temperature was a chilly 30 C or 86 F. TWL started up Prime 95 and ran the program for 15 minutes on CPU burn in and checked the temperature again which was then reported as a mild 100F. After two minutes the CPU had returned to a 88F. TWL ran all tests with the case side off, and using a variable speed 80mm fan placed on top of a stock AMD cooler. While the stock heatsink and fan setup is not optimal for cooling, it is clear that the FIC accomplishes running the CPU much cooler than comparable boards. This is compared to the Albatron K8X800 Pro II which runs at a significantly higher 100F idle speed.
