This benchmark shows the memory bandwidth of the MSI Wind as expected for a netbook. |
Sisoft Sandra multimedia benchmark shows the netbook as capable of the handling today's web browsing with ease, but not likely to be used for video editing. |
The benchmarks above are not very impressive to those who run laptops or workstations, but one must understand that a netbook is not on the market to compete against them for processing and video rendering functions. The netbook category is designed to be the compact light weight laptop like PC with enough resources to handle browsing internet and working on documents while in class or meetings. So, the MSI Wind meets these requirements very well.
The MSI Wind came in just behind the Asus N10J-A2 running Super PI by near tenths of a second, which the avid user would not notice this difference. The arithmetic benchmark of the MSI Wind to the Asus N10J-A2 was a difference of several MIPS. Though if when I had used both the MSI and the ASUS, I couldn't tell one out performed the other doing the same tasks. In the end the comfort of use of the keyboard and the ease on the eyes of looking at the MSI Wind's LED backlit screen was noticeably welcomed over the Asus N10J-A2.
