Streamzap PC Remote

Usability:

Any HTPC or Multimedia PC should have one of these. This is a must have item for the true HTPC enthusiast. I couldn't have received this product to review at any better time. I was planning an overnight business trip with broadband access in the hotel. An excellent opportunity to test it out with Winamp, as I usually use Winamp streaming audio while I'm on business trips.

I connected my laptop to the hotel's broadband access and attached the Streamzap IR receiver to the USB port. Within minutes I was listening to streaming audio via remote control from the comfort of the hotel's king size bed. You just can't get lazier than that. The range was great! As advertised, while within line of sight of the IR receiver, I was able to use the remote control anywhere in the room.

Conclusions:

If you spend more time changing songs on the PC than entertaining guests, this remote is for you. I will definately be obtaining one for my own personal use. I originally thought it would be a cute toy but it quickly became a necessity. Watch your friends' faces light up when you start controlling your PC from across the room. "WOW! How did you do that?!"
