Intel Core 2 Quad

Conclusion:

We've gone through a LOT of benchmarks today, and all of them showed us that the Q9650 leaves the older Q6700 in the dust. While the price has gone down on the Q6700, today's latest games are more demanding every month, and you just have to stay on top of it. One of the main reasons the Q9650 performed better was the 45nm architecture. The closer transistors are together in a processor, the faster speeds and the more heat is produced. Make sure you have a good CPU Cooler!

There is no better time to enter the quad core market than now. Intel's new Quads are faster than ever, and the prices on them are very reasonable for the performance gain. With the Q9650 available from Newegg.com for $554.99, extreme computing is just around the corner. If this just isn't enough, you could even pick up the QX9650 from Newegg.com for $999.99. Becuase of the aggressive speed and scores this processor received, I proudly award it the Editor's Choice award.
