Intel Q9650 3.00GHz Quad Core Processor

Using SiSoft Sandra, we tested the processors' Multi-Core, Multimedia, Processor Arithmetic, and Power Management. We then compared the results for the Q6700 @ 1066, the Q6700 @ 1333, and the Q9650 @ 1333.

Multi-Core Efficiency |
The Multi-core efficiency is used to show how efficient the operations of the processors compare to other processors on the market. We chose to compare our Q6700 to the Intel QX6850, the Intel QX9650, the Intel Q6600, and the Intel E6700. This gives us a broad spectrum of comparison among the Intel line. We see from the pictures above that the Q6700 falls in 3rd with 16184MB/sec, just as we expect.

Processor Multimedia |
The Multimedia test is used to show how your processor handles multimedia instructions compared to other processors. In this test, we chose to compare our Q6700 to the Intel QX6700, the Intel Q9450, the Intel Q6600, and the AMD Phenom 9900. As you can see from the scores above, The Q6700 comes in 2nd, being beaten by the Intel Q9450. The AMD Phenom was trumped quite easily, even by the Q6600.

Processor Arithmetic |
The Processor Arithmetic test is used to show how our CPU handles arithmetic and floating point instructions compared to other processors. We chose to compare our Q6700 against the same processors listed above. We see that the Q6700 is beaten this time by the QX6700 and Q9450, ranking in 3rd place. Again, the AMD Phenom 9900 comes in last.

Power Management |
The Power Management test is used to show how efficiently your processor uses power compared to other processors. We opted to use the ALU performance test with NTSC 30Hz frequency, and chose to compare the Q6700 against the Intel QX6850, the Intel QX9650, the Intel Q6600, and the AMD Phenom 9750. The Q6700 somehow trumped the Intel QX9650 in this test, but fell short to the QX6850. Again, the AMD Phenom came in last place.
