Lite-On EZ DUB

Provider:  Lite On
Manufacturer:  Lite On

Specifications, System Requirements

Minimum system requirements:

  1. CPU: Pentium III 450MHz or higher (Pentium III 800MHz is recommended)
  2. OS: Windows 98SE / ME / 2000 / XP (Note: The one button functions only work in Win2K SP4 or WinXP SP2 or better)
  3. Memory: 128MB RAM or higher (256MB RAM is recommended)
  4. Hard Drive: 650MB available capacity; 9GB free HDD space or higher for creating dual-layer DVD image files

The requirements should be easily met by most computers. The most important thing to note is that the EZ-DUB one button functionality is only supported in Windows 2000 Service Pack 4.0 and Windows XP Home Service Pack 2 and up.

Below are the specs given by LITE-ON:

Nero confirms these:

What we see is a wide range of support for + and - media. Strangely, there is no support for DVD-R DL support. LITE-ON has been part of the DVD Alliance for some time, and as such have supported the +R movement. As a result they’ve always been a little shakey with –R support, but the complete lack of –R DL support here is a bit surprising. Hopefully, this shortcoming can be rectified in the future with a firmware upgrade. The only other things not supported are the DVD-RAM specification, and the rather defunct Mt. Ranier specification. Given the dwindling support and applications for those two types media, this is neither surprising nor heartbreaking. Of course DVDInfoPro also shows a lack of the cutting edge media types (Blu-Ray, HD DVD, etc), but these are obviously beyond the scope of this drive.
