Conclusion

The ATI Radeon HD4800 series of cards marks a significant step forward in graphics computing, with the HD4850 holding its own very well and outperforming its cousin, the HD3870. As many other hardware websites have already noted, the introduction of the 4800 series video cards have brought ATI effectively back intot he game and with a vengance. ATI has forced Nvidia to reduce the price of its 8800 and 9800 series cards in addition to its flagship cards the 280 and 260. Competition is always good for the consumer. So the question you should be asking yourself is where is my money best spent? The answer should be clear, at a shockingly low price of $180 or less for the 4850 and a sub $200 price for the 4870 Nvidia doesnt currently offer anything that is compelling enough to sway users from purchasing an ATI card.

Simply put, the Sapphire delivers a high quality product that simply works after a very simple driver install and provides a robust gaming environment at a very affordable price. As we noted earlier the 4850 is priced at around $180 on Neweg. We feel the HD4850 is sure to provide best bang for your hard earned buck.
