Quickly after it's release, Crysis became a standard in benchmarking, and Crytek was nice enough to provide their own benchmarking tool. This tool is very similar to FRAPS, and can be customized to your liking. I ran the benchmarks on both medium and high settings with NO-AA (anti-aliasing), both at 1024x768 resolution.

The ATI Radeon HD 4850 performed very well compared to our comparison card, the ATI Radeon HD 3870. As you can see, the ATI Radeon HD 4850 really outdid the ATI Radeon HD 3870. Overall, there was about a 20% increase in performance. Where the ATI Radeon HD 4850 really shinned was the increase in the low FPS score in both medium setting and especially the high setting.
