Palit ATI Radeon HD 4850
3DMark 06

For our final benchmark, I will be using 3DMark '06. I bet many of you are wondering why I'm using an older benchmarking tool and the answer is simple: consistency. Back when we reviewed the ATI Radeon HD 3870, '06 was the newest and since we don't have that card anymore, we thought we'd be consistent (the computer is still very similar). As well as using 3D Mark '06, I will be including the BFG Nvidia 8800GT OC result from the review of the ATI Radeon HD 3870 as well since it too was tested on a very similar machine.
Results

As you can see, the ATI Radeon HD 4850 showed once again how well it performs. The ATI Radeon HD 4850 outperformed both GPU's in HDR/SM3.0 tests and had an overall score of 9455. This was in fact very close to the ATI Radeon HD 3870, but since the AT Radeon 4850 is only a single socket card I'd consider it a huge improvement over the duel socket ATI Radeon HD 3870. The ATI Radeon HD 4850 did do far worse in SM2.0, but that is most likely due to it's 512GB of RAM compared to the ATI Radeon HD 3870's 1GB.
3DMark Vantage

3DMark Vantage is Futuremarks latest 3DMark. 3DMark measures both the CPU and GPU independently and scores them based on performance. Lets see how the Palit ATI Radeon HD 4850 handles it.
