Palit GTX 280 SLI
Packaging:
The Palit GTX280 came packaged in a rather eye catching box. With a huge robotic frog located on the front of the box with a very simply and elegant packaging box design. On the front of the box you can clearly see the type of video card it is as it is displayed in the bottom right side. You may also notice that unlike some other products Palit didn't decide to over the box from top to bottom with a huge company logo, they actually settled with placing a small logo in the top left of the packaging. On the back side of the packaging, you will notice that there is a list of features offered by the Palit GTX280, which are shown in twelve different languages.
Upon opening the box we see two things, one a small flip open door on the top portion of the interior which can be used to access the included accessories, and also the box that contains the graphics card itself. You can notice in the picture on the right hand side of the box, there is a small piece of foam that is used to help prevent the graphics card sliding back and forth. While this didn't prove to work that well, it did provide some extra support.
After removing the Palit GTX280 and then cardboard separator, you can see the full contents of the box.
After taking the cardboard box containing the graphics card out of the box, we then opened that box to pull out the graphics card itself. The Palit GTX280 was packed securing within a bubble wrap bag which fit snuggly into the box. This was to help prevent any damages that may take place when shipping the card out to various locations.
We will take a closer look at the card on the next page, but before we do that lets finish taking a look at what else was included in the packaging of the Palit GTX280. The GTX280 itself has two DVI ports used to attach your output devices, but lets say you want to hook you computer up to an older monitor that only has VGA or maybe up to your nice 1080 HDTV and want to use an HDMI cable. Well Palit thought of this too and decided to include both a DVI to VGA adapter and a DVI to HMDI adapter.
Included with most all hardware is an installation CD which contains the drivers (at the time of release), remember it is always recommended to download the latest drivers off of the respective companies website. A free bonus, included with the GTX280 was the Tomb Raider Anniversary Game.
