Call of Duty 4: Modern Warfare

Call of Duty 4: Modern Warfare

About Call of Duty 4:

Call of Duty 4: Modern Warfare is a first-person shooter video game developed by Infinity Ward and published by Activision. It is the fourth installment of the Call of Duty video game series, but the game now breaks away from the World War II setting of previous games and is instead set in modern times. The story is centered around a fictional near-future conflict involving the United States, the United Kingdom, and Russia, who are fighting against Russian ultranationalists in civil war torn Russia, and rebels that have staged a government overthrow in a small Middle Eastern country.

Benchmarking Call of Duty 4:

To benchmark Call of Duty 4: Modern Warfare we created a custom time demo of actual multipleyer gameplay. We use the built-in timedemo functionality to play and stop the timedemo. To record the actual frames per seconds achieved by the game, we used FRAPS.

Benchmarking Results:

Call of Duty 4: Modern Warfare Results

The results for the Call of Duty 4 test were quite amazing, I was expecting somewhere around 60-80 fps on the single card and it received 103 fps while using no AA and 82 fps while maxed on at 4x AA. As the AA is not capable of doing another about 4x AA like other similar games, the game itself still looks amazing and realistic. When both Palit GTX 280's were installed in SLI, the system achieved 135 fps when no AA was being used, and 125fps when the 4x AA was initiated. These frame rates are definately acceptable and im sure when running on a 2560x1600 resolution the frame rate will still be well above playable speeds.
