SAPPHIRE PURE 780G AMD MOTHERBOARD
The Motherboard (continued):
In the next images you can clearly see the on-board LED readout that is excellent in reporting the motherboard error codes for any failures you may encounter during a boot-up or modification to your BIOS, as well as it can also be assigned to show the cpu's running temperature. Next to the battery compartment, we find the 6 SATA III on-board connectors that due to the SB700 (south bridge) are capable of running RAID 0, 1 and 10 configurations.
On this motherboard, we were very pleased to find that we also have great USB support. There are a total of 14 USB ports with 12 of them being USB 2.0 and the remaining ports are 1.1. These USB headers can be clearly seen in the images below, along the edge of the motherboard.
It was nice to find that Sapphire placed heatsinks on the ever-toasty MOSFETS used in the power area of the motherboard, as seen in the images below. You can see how close these MOSFETS are located to the I/O area of the motherboard, also notice that you can clearly see the 8-pin power supply connector.
I/O Ports:
As we make our way around this motherboard, you can see that the I/O ports are plentiful for being such a small Micro-ATX motherboard. From the left you have the PS2 connections for your standard PS2 keyboard and mouse connectors, next you have the VGA connector and the DVI connector, both of which work with the on-board graphics processor. To the left of these you next have a stack set of two USB ports.Next to these you have a Gigabit LAN cable port and two more USB ports for a total of 4 USB ports on-board in the I/O area. Last but not least we find the two rows for the embedded Azalia 8-channel HD Audio which is fully compatible with Sound Blaster Pro standards.
