LG Shine (TM) Cell Phone
Messaging
The LG Shine is setup for what is called CV or video messaging. This new feature is the ability to record a brief video and then send the video to someone. This feature was very handy for those times when texting someone would take too long and simply aiming the camera at yourself and hitting record and send was faster. Now, of course you will want to have a data plan to support the amount of data you will be sending as video is significantly more than brief text messages of just a few abbreviated words. Also, the range of in-prompt-to videos you will receive from your friends will be very interesting. The one point to note while using the LG Shine for messaging was the buttons of the keypad being on the small side, users with big fingers will find themselves mistyping more often than not. The number keys are smooth and it is kind of difficult to feel where one keypad number stops and the next one starts by simply sliding ones fingers across the keypad. This may be problematic for those who like to drive, text, look in the mirror, and read the morning news at the same time.
Camera / Video
The integrated camera on the LG Shine is rated at 2 megapixels and takes just as good pictures as the LG Voyager. Though the LG Shine does not come with all the extras the voyager has such as the "say cheese" option, but it does have quite a few of the same. The one option noted by one user who has had the LG Shine imported from overseas last year is the option to turn the flash on permanently. The user had said this option is very nice to use as a flashlight at times to find the right key for a door in low light. Though one should be warned, this option will burn through the charge of the battery very quickly.

You also have many options when taking pictures, such as Brightness, Resolution (320x240, 640x480, 1280x960, and 1600x1200), Self Timer, White Balance, Shutter Sound, Color Effects, Night Mode, Save Option, Photometry, and Auto Focus. We have "View Gallery" and "Switch to Video" buttons, as well as to "Clear" out of the camera mode.
Sound Quality
After using the LG Shine for about a week now and calling multiple people the common response everyone on the end was that they noticed the difference in clarity of my voice. 99% of these calls were done with three or more bars while in the 3G network area of Orlando, Florida. The use of the LG Shine in areas where the Motorola Razor would fade or drop calls were the Shine didn't fade or drop... as much. It was noticed more that if the LG Shine was going to fade the phone either continue to give you a clear connection or nothing at all. Though if the connection to the cell tower was temporarily disconnected the Shine would try to re-sync for a longer time period than the Razr, so you didn't have to call the person back.
