While Unreal Tournament 2004 is an aging engine it is still one of the most played games and provides an excellent benchmark due to the large environements and physics involved.

COD4 is, like many games, fairly GPU bound and as such the difference between the AMD Phenom 965 Clock at default 3.4GHz and overclocked to 3.9GHz is not earth shattering.

While entirely playable at these settings Crysis still proves that it is one tough game on hardware.
All in all the Phenom II 965 proves it can handle all of the games we have thrown at it when paired up with a capable video card. For the price the 965 is proving its’ worthiness to be at the heart of our gaming rig. While investing into a rig based around the Q9550 would be an investment into older technology with a very limited upgrade path. As always AMD has thought ahead with each of their releases and the AM3 incorporates the latest technology while giving their consumer base a clear and easy upgrade path.
