CoolerMaster HAF 922 Case

Comparisons:

Below we have a few photos of the HAF922 next to its big brother HAF932 to give you a perspective ouf the size difference between the two cases.

The HAF922 is dwarfed by the HAF932 shown here behind the HAF922 The difference between the two cases besides height and drive bays you can see the both cases are from the same case line. The HAF922 not only be shorter, but has less I/O ports on the front of the case.

As you can see the HAF932 has some height over the HAF922. Having more height/space with the HAF932 may not be work the extra cost at time of purchase, one may find all they really need/use is a case the size of a HAF922. Both cases have more than enough airflow from OEM fans. Then if your not convinced the HAF922 has enough from the factory, you can add one more HUGE case fan side panel.

Both HAF932 (left) and the HAF922(right) both have a PSU port at the bottom of the case, same number of PCI slots and I/O ports and ports for water cooling. Though only the HAF932 has ports of the top of the case to mount the water cooling radiator. The difference between the HAF922 (left) and the HAF932 (right) on the top of the cases is the lack of mounting holes for a water cooling radiator on the HAF922. The “storage” space near the front of the HAF922 is smaller and contains the power, reset and FAN LED buttons, which renders this “storage” space useless in our opinion.

Conclusion:

The HAF922 is another case to add to the list of cases worth looking at when you planning to build your next rig. The rigid structure is able to handle the constant movement from your home to a LAN party and the weight is just a few pounds lighter than the HAF932. The few design features like the ports for water cooling without having the mounting holes on top of the case to mount a radiator and the storage area which is smaller than HAF932 and contains buttons you need access to to power on the case is design features which are lost on us. The HAF922 has plenty of air flow with its factory supplied case fans, but if one wants to add another case fan later, there is room on the side panel for a 200mm fan. The price point for the HAF922 being less than the HAF932 is attractive to consumers wanting to get their hands on a high airflow case, but can’t afford the HAF932. So, if you put aside the two design points we listed, the HAF922 is quite a solid case with plenty to offer.  TechwareLabs would like to thank Cooler Master for sending us the HAF 922 case as it is truely a work of art that we would approve of for anyone
