Performance
Performance is an essential part of any storage device. Transfer speed depicts the time it takes to transfer or backup any files. On ADATAs website they boast 109 MB/s read and 107 MB/s write. We see they were relatively close when we tested this sample. The read speed of 109MB/s is spot on however the write speed varies a bit from the spec’d 107MB/s to the actual 94MB/s. However we cannot fault ADATA for this, many factors go into benchmark tests. The main thing to take away here is the spec’d and actual speeds aren’t vastly different.

Quality
This section is often what separates a good drive from a great drive. Other drives can be made of purely plastic or a flimsy build. Since portable drives often take a beating in transit, it’s nice to see that ADATA has put some effort into a quality and sturdy enclosure. Where the brushed aluminum meets the plastic backing the seam is solid and unyielding. I have no doubt about the exterior standing up to (almost) anything the daily user can throw at it.
