Final Thoughts

Overall the A8-5600k is a solid entry to mid level chip. For the average PC user this is a great processor. You get pretty good CPU performance and surprisingly decent GPU performance as well. Gaming on the 5600k without a discrete GPU is a possibility even in some of the more graphically intense games. But gaming really isn’t what this chip is built for. The 5600k handles everyday tasks such as web browsing, light photo and video editing, and watching high-def movies with ease. And for the ultra productive type, the onboard 7560 has plenty of power to drive 3 monitors.

There is a little bit here for the enthusiast to enjoy as well though. I was able to bring my chip to 4.1 GHz with ease, and it could be pushed even further. And by pairing the 5600k up with a discrete GPU, you can actually make a pretty powerful gaming machine capable of handling all of the new titles.

The new Trinity line of APUs really show that CPU/GPU combos are very feasible and with the 5600k currently going for $110, it is hard to beat the price to overall performance of this chip.

I have this apu. I am a little confused about the electric power consumption.
Could you please let me know how much power it will consume while using the apu at 50% ?
It’s max TDP is 100W. Isn’t it bad compairing intel chips ?
