Throughout these tests I let the motherboard stay with the default detected settings. When the ASRock Fatal1ty Z68 professional board detected the Intel Core i5 2500k it set the over clocking threshold to 4GHz ( 22% overclock) I left it at this to both show how just using this board squeezes out performance and due to the nature of our cooling ( Intel Stock ). During all tests the system was completely stable with no hangups or other assorted glitches that can be the byproduct of an unstable board.
AIDA64 v1.80
AIDA 64 Extreme Edition is a streamlined benchmarking tool for Microsoft Windows, this tool provides a wide range of features and tests designed to thoroughly test the entire system and compare it to others. For the purposes of this range of tests AIDA64 will be called upon to test the how well the CPU and motherboard interact by running tests.
- AES encryption, the same encryption used in solutions such as 7zip and Bitlocker.
- The classic “queens problem” on a 10×10 chess board.
- PhotoWorxx which is designed to perform a variety of task related to digital photo processing.
- Zlib compression.
- Hash which measures performance using the SHA1 hashing algorithm.

Amazing results from the pairing of the Intel Core i5 and the ASRock Fatal1ty Z68 Professional motherboard, these tests show this system beating out several higher end and more expensive chips including several 6 and 8 core processors.
Performance Test v7.0
Performance Test 7 is a complex benchmarking suite that objectively benchmarks a PC utilizing a wide barrage of tests, then much like some of out other tests it compares the results to a number of other user built machines.
SiSoftware Sandra 2011
This suite is broken out into several tests. This system is the red marker.
Cryptography: Measures the cryptography efficiency of the processor units: encryption, decryption and hashing. Shows how your processors handle cryptographic operations in comparison to other typical processors.
Processor Multi-Media: Benchmark the SIMD processor units. Shows how your processors handle multi-media instructions and data in comparison to other typical processors.

As with the AIDA64 results we see surprisingly strong results from this system when compared to to higher end and more expensive chips.
Sciencemark 2.0
Much like most of other benchmark suites ScienceMark stresses the system this time by performing resource intensive scientific calculations.
This is is a very respectable score showing that the CPU/ motherboard combo handles intensive calculations such as those that are utilized in higher end strategy games for AI calculations or even programs such as folding@home.
Hi there this is my first time posting. But i been a forum guess for the longest and i decided to post and tell how i like this forum

I have one of these boards with allmost same setup tested here except I have a zotac gtx 460 1gb card. It runs bad company 2 at average 65 fps with stock settings and average 80 fps when over clocked to 4000. mhz. With using a cooler master 212plus cpu cooler, the motherboard allmost never gets over 30c and the cpu average in the low 30’s stock and mid/uper 30’s overclocked steady at 4100mhz. It is a beautifull looking board also and the fatal1ty look on the bios is a welcome releif from the usual blue screen of past bios.
I thought that SATA cables had the right angle plug for the HDD end not the Mobo?
it dosen’t matter which end you put it, same result. most of the time I put it on the hard drive, dosen’t matter
Thank you for finally putting the “link” posting back into your email post. It has been missing for about six months and I couldn’t read the email you posted. Thank You!
