CES 2010: Antec
From the First black computer case, to the newest CPX PSU design, Antec has always been an industry leader in almost everything they choose to do. We are all familiar with their inexpensive lineup of cases that offer tremendous value to the consumer starting with the Antec Three Hundred, and now they took that a step further with their Dark Fleet series cases. These cases offer the Antec quality that we all know and love, with a price that the average consumer can afford. The cases will be added to their current line-up of cases that can fit the CPX series Power supplies.

The Dark Fleet Approaches
Along with their cost effective Dark fleet series, Antec has released their CP-1000. The CP-1000 features a unique design with an advanced cooling system, exclusively compatible with some of Antec’s most cutting-edge Gaming and Performance One enclosures, including the Twelve Hundred, P183 and P193. By breaking the mold of standardized power supply size restrictions, the CP-1000 design is able to provide an excellent price-to-performance ratio. A silent rear 120mm PWM fan and dual PCB layout also ensure optimal cooling performance and reliability. If cost effectiveness, quietness, coolness, and reliability are the things you look for in a PSU, this will be something that stays at the top of your list when building a computer. This PSU will have Over Current Protection (OCP) on each rail. This is something that most people do not look for in a PSU, instead looking for 80 plus certification and high wattage. This is something that you do not find often, if at all (cough)…XFX…(cough) in PSU’s from other companies. The reason for this is that the PSU’s efficiency is lowered by about 2% per rail by adding this feature.

Antec’s High End
On the high end, Antec has also announced the LAN Boy Air Computer Gaming Chassis. This computer case is unique to say the least. Throughout CES, Computex, and any other trade show, we have not seen anything that even reminds us of the LAN Boy Air. It is the evolution of the original LanBoy presented in an innovative new form. The LanBoy Air features an advanced, robust cooling system, a highly flexible modular design and an innovative HDD suspension mounting system. These features make it the perfect solution for gamers and PC enthusiasts looking for the best combination of style, structural innovation and advanced cooling.
