Installation
To say that the H80 is troublesome to install is a gross understatement of the difficulties I encountered while attempting to mount the cooler in my system. Granted, many of these issues may be due to defective parts or mounting solutions, but they need to be pointed out. In general, the mounting bracket and its components are of surprisingly low production quality, with a plastic sleeve (that is intended to remain on) attached to the bracket itself, not to mention the incredibly cheap screws provided, one of which snapped off before the block was even properly tightened down. Both are easily remedied, a bit of tape will serve to repair any issues with the plastic piece, while a simple $1 purchase or #4-40 screws at a local Home Depot easily replaced the mounting screws. For the relatively low price of the system itself, it stands to reason that concessions will be made in certain areas; however, personally I would much rather be charged an additional dollar for a few quality materials.
Excellent review. I didn’t know much about liquid cooling systems and while this was a review, the graphs and information in it helped me learn and make a choice. Thank you!
