Now, we get to the most exhaustive of the synthetic benchmarks, SiSoftware’s Sandra. Sandra has some of the most punishing benchmarks to date, and as laser-focused as the individual tests are, they can help to point out unusual strengths or weaknesses in a given system.

Here we see results that mirror the general trend in computer performance: AMD systems do better in multimedia tasks, while Intel systems do better at multitasking. For the most part, the numbers here are fairly respectable, reflecting a level of performance considerably higher than one would expect from a budget-oriented chipset. What is unusual here is the memory bandwidth benchmark, where the AMD 785G chipset manages to nearly keep pace with the much higher end Intel X58 chipset, which is designed around the decidedly pricey Core i7 CPU.
