Conclusion
All in all, the HornetTek Defender is not a bad little enclosure. It is lightweight, small, attractive, solidly built, and at about $10 on MWave ($25 on Amazon) it is competitively priced. But overall it is just not terribly impressive. By only supporting USB 2.0 and a max drive size of 1TB, the enclosure is severely limited by out-dated technology. If you need to transfer quickly or backup a very large amount of files, look elsewhere. But if you are just looking for a basic backup drive that doesn’t need super fast transfers or extremely large amounts of storage space this enclosure will get the job done.
