Testing Continued:
HD TUNE Pro:
These results add to the consistent performance of the drive during sequential reads, with VERY low access times combined with High reads, this drive will clearly provide a large performance increase for virtually any system. The second screen shot shows the less impressive speeds of non sequential 4kb reads, however the performance is consistent, and this is what we like to see.
AS SSD
AS SSD (if you cannot infer from the name) is a benchmark specifically designed to test SSD’s. This benchmark will output in both IOPS and Mb/s. There are three different tests displayed here . The first shows the read/write performance based on a 1Gb file using the listed methods. The Second test is the Copy performance, based on three common operating system tasks. This test utilizes the operating system cache, and is also dependent on processor performance. The third test is the IOPS output using the same 1GB file type. The fourth is the most interesting in this benchmark, this shows the SSD’s performance based on the compressibility of the file (1Gb in size). From left to right the compressibility of the data becomes greater, allowing the SANDFORCE controller to utilize its processes thus increasing the speed.
