Testing Continued:
SiSoft Sandra Physical Drive test :
Here is another well known benchmark providing an excellent visual representation of data. The Kingston HyperX clearly smoked all of the competition in the Mb/s category and a very close second in the access time. The results can be a little foggy here because the actual score is based on the average, while the slightly transparent bar represents the maximum the drive reached during testing. The smaller the difference between the Kingston HyperX drive average and Max represent the consistent performance one should look for in their enthusiast components.
PC Mark HDD Suite:
Futuremark makes a number of the industry trusted Benchmarks. It comes as no surprise that the manufacturer lists the PCMARK Vantage results on their specifications page. Often times consumers mistrust manufacturer specifications as “lab results” unachievable in real life, using a utility available to the public as their standard shows that their results are straightforward and honest.
our PCMARK tests did not mirror the manufacturers but this is not surprising. While the rest of the benchmarks provide results based solely on the performance of the drive, PCMARK Vantage is designed to replicate common windows tasks which utilize not only your Hard drive, but your processor. as you can see from the windows experience score the processor is the limiting factor on this machines performance.
Anvil’s Storage Utility Pro:
This benchmark is new to the market, but i feel it will soon become a household name in SSD testing. The all in one interface and the wealth of information provided in a single screenshot makes it very nice to use.
The results are laid out pretty clear here. In the bottom right you can see the data format is the compression 0-fill method which is why we see the sequential read/writes are so close to the manufacturers listed specifications. the 4K result are also consistent. You can’t be upset with these numbers.
