LaCie 2Big NAS 6TB (9000226) Review

Before we get into a conclusion, lets crunch some numbers and compare the 2Big Network 2 and the 2Big NAS:

Taking a look at a simple breakdown and noting the differences between the two of them, you can see the $80 price difference between the two after considering drives. $80 for faster responsiveness, Larger Drive compatibility, and the latest filesystem. Since the 2Big Network 2 is not offered in a 6TB version, if you really need that space you’re really limited in terms of 2 bay NASs’ (From LaCie). In situations where speed is needed (either over a single connection or multiple connections) that difference in speed from the Network to the NAS would be worth it in my opinion. Price aside, I see nothing that requires changing with the 2Big NAS. However I’m reluctant to award it our Editors or Awesome award because of it’s slight (although effective) differences. So I am awarding the LaCie 2Big NAS our Awesome Hardware Award (Now known as our Bronze Award).
