The Squeezebox ™ Boom comes with an RJ45 port on the back to give you the ability to plug into the local LAN at the office when wireless isn’t available. The ability to use wireless is favored since the flexability putting the Squeezebox Boom anywhere within range of the wireless access point which is mostly where a copper network connection isn’t available.
