Similar to PCMark, SiSoft Sandra is another synthetic benchmark suite that can test everything in a system. Today we will just be focusing on the memory based tests.

The cache and memory benchmark tests the performance of moving data between the CPU’s cache and the RAM. We see that at stock speeds the cache/memory bandwidth is 85.59GB/s which is more than some 1800MHz kits. With the overclock the bandwidth is increased to 91.34GB/s.

Latency refers to the time between when the request to pull information from the memory was made to when the RAM actually provided the information. The timings and speeds of the RAM modules play a key role in this test. When looking at the results, the lower the score the better. The stock speed scored 63.8ns and with the overclock, it scored 57.1ns.
Conclusion
OCZ delivers on their promise of making high performance RAM that overclocks quite well. The only thing that you may need to look out for is the size of the heat spreaders. Just make sure your case and cooling solution can accommodate the size and their shouldn’t be a problem. The lack of an X.M.P. may deter the less tech savvy, but OCZ is really aiming toward the overclocker and general hardware enthusiast with this product anyways. The timings on the RAM are excellent and function well under low power. The price of $140 is very much in line with other DDR3 high performance kits. If you’re looking for memory that holds up well when overclocking and have a motherboard that can handle it, the OCZ Reaper R2 1600MHz kit would be a n excellent choice.
